About Cash Indiana Pawn Shop
Owned and operated by Jack and Cathy Batz. Cash Indiana Pawn Shop is a chain of family owned Pawnshops in NW Indiana. In 1963, Jack converted the Diner Bell restaurant into Jack's Gun Shop at the current Burns Harbor location. For the next two decades Jack’s Gun Shop operated as the one stop shop for hunters, fisherman, trap shooters, and other outdoor enthusiasts. During the early 1980’s economic depression Jack realized the need and opportunity to diversify and expand his business. Thus Jacks Gun Shop was converted into Jack’s Gun & Pawn shop. In 1992, Jack and Cathy opened their second store at the current Lake Station location and then in 1994 they opened their Michigan City store creating today’s Cash Indiana Corporation. From day one Jack and Cathy’s motto has been to treat every customer, as they would want to be treated with respect and fairness. This motto has bought them great success and satisfaction in helping NW Indiana with their financial troubles.

Aaron has been a Cash Indiana employee since 1994 and full time Manager since graduating from Purdue University Krannert School of business in 2003. In 2004, Aaron attended the Gemological Institute of America and got his certification in Diamond Grading, Colored stone Grading, and Gem ID. Having spent his whole life involved in the Pawn industry Aaron's knowledge and experience of the business is unmatched. He also handles the eBay and Gunbroker accounts.

Ulises has been with the company since 2011 and moved into Management in the second half of 2014. Ulises is fluent in boh English and Spanish making him a valuable asset. Ulises is a avid gamer and can answer many of your video game questions. He is a friendly and courteous employee who can help with many questions and concerns.

Steve has over 13 years of pawning experience. He values customer relations and is committed to cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with all of our customers, vendors and employees. He understands that the only way a business will truly succeed is by connecting with their customers, building trust and being honest. Steve also runs our Gunbroker & Ebay online stores for our Michigan City location.

Jim started working at Cash Indiana in 2003. He works part time in our Lake Station location as a store Manager. With Jim's full time background in law enforcement he brings incredible knowledge in firearms and related products. Jim has become an integral part of the Cash Indiana family and we rely on his expertise for every aspect of the business. If you need help with just about anything. Jim is the guy.

Melissa moved up the ranks to become a store manager in less than a year. She has a Bachelors Degree in Business/Marketing from IUN. Melissa has fantastic Public Relations skills. Melissa also runs one of our eBay accounts. She is a smart hardworking Manager who can assist you with any questions or concerns.

Brandon has been with the company since 2018 and in 2020 has moved into the Management Team. Brandon is extremely conscious and disciplined. He works at all 3 locations and has become very knowledgeable of firearms. He helps clean and inspect firearms. Brandon also has a lot of product knowledge of Video Games. He might be short but we assure you, he can reach your highest expectations!
